We gave the world an Original. You gave us a thousand back.
This campaign was a reset for adidas Originals; a celebration of the tastemakers and cultural drivers who have given new meaning to the three stripes.
We created six celebrity edits with David Beckham, Pusha T, Anitta, Zinedine Zidane, Hoyeon Jung & Jennie Kim, to showcase their unique stories, what makes them an original, and what being an original means to them. In doing so, we relaunched the adidas classics, the Samba, the Superstar, and the Gazelle.
Above all, the focus was to keep authenticity at the forefront. We shot David Beckham at InterMiami FC, Pusha T in his hometown of Virginia and Jennie from BlackPink in Seoul, the heart of K-pop culture. This was crucial to the success of the campaign.
We created a hero ‘Originals’ script for all our celebrities to voiceover and bespoke scripts for each celebrity to tell their story. We captured the content using a variety of cinematic approaches to ensure each film felt unique to the campaign. We created six 45 second edits which were posted on adidas Originals Instagram channel along with a number of our celebrity partners posting as collabs to really maximise reach. We also created a still for reach partner which was used in OOH & instore globally.
This was a brand awareness campaign to launch ‘We give the world an original. You gave us a thousand back’. These films created buzz, reigniting that love for the classic adidas Original shoes.
