**MemoriaRocas** is an interactive multimedia web documentary (docuweb) that brings together and interconnects various narrative elements such as video, testimonies, archive films, photography, sound, animation, infographics, hyperlinks and text. Through their interplay, these components reveal the recent history of a memory site marked by human rights violations in Chile during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet in the 1970s.



This historic site, known as the former *Santo Domingo Detention and Torture Center*, is one of the lesser-known facilities but played a crucial and tragic role, as it was here that the DINA (National Intelligence Directorate), secret police organization of Pinochet’s regime, was formed in the early years of the regime.



Nowadays some survivors of this detention and torture center, founded a NGO that envisions the creation of a memorial and a human rights education center on the site.



The interactivity of the documentary is developed using *scrollytelling* — a vertical scrolling technique that allows users to actively decide how and what to explore among the different narrative layers as they navigate through the content.
