A long-time client of TESSA Marketing + Technology was faced with a problem: How do they maximize their exposure to qualified prospective job candidates, generating more searches for open positions from internships to full-time?



SCS Engineers is a multi-national environmental consulting and engineering firm employing thousands of people at more than 60 offices across the country. TESSA has provided SCS with customized digital marketing services for more than 10 years, and in April 2022 began an "HR SEO" campaign focused on bolstering their website's rankings for job-related keywords.



Before TESSA's "HR SEO" campaign, SCSEngineers.com ranked for very few job-related keywords. As of TESSA's last report to SCS (created Nov. 5, 2024), the website is attracting nearly 500 visits from job-related keyword searches, and ranks on Page 1 of Google for 844 different job-related keywords.



To accomplish these goals, TESSA created hundreds of job-listing webpages and structured them with back-end web schema that enables Google to properly index the pages and place them in the Google Jobs section of search results.



Doing so required overcoming a challenge: Since the job listings on SCSEngineers.com are dynamic and update in near-real-time, TESSA had to devise an SEO solution that 1) made the job-listing webpages constantly searchable, 2) kept control of job-listing webpages with SCS Engineers, and 3) kept interested applicants on SCSEngineers.com, avoiding impersonal and crowded third-party sites and sending the potential employee on a journey to discover why they should apply to SCS Engineers.



Thanks to TESSA's "HR SEO" campaign, SCS Engineers controls an effective on-site channel for finding qualified applicants for all their openings - remote, internship, part-time, and full-time. TESSA continues refining the campaign to obtain top rankings for specific job-related keywords, so SCS Engineers receives more interest from applicants they want to hear from.



By finding more applicants, they're finding better applicants. SCS Engineers is filling open positions more quickly and - with TESSA's custom-tailored "HR SEO" campaign - exceeding their digital marketing goals.
